About HugoBorn in San Salvador, El Salvador, Hugo has called Calgary, Canada home since 1987. Hugo graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts in 1997 receiving a Diploma from the Visual Communications Program. Working in traditional Drawing and Painting mediums, he has created a variety of illustrations for diverse clients, from editorial to advertising to corporate. As well as producing works for private commissions. In tandem with illustration work, Hugo has been represented as a gallery artist in Calgary having hosted and also participating in various group exhibitions. Since 2007 Hugo has also embarked in the teaching side of art, first at his Alma Mater from 2007 to 2012, art residencies in 2014 and 2015 for elementary schools and recently teaching at both of the City of Calgary's art centres: North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower.
